The Florida Coastal and Ocean Conference – 2010

The Florida Coastal and Ocean Coalition, a group of organizations working together to conserve, protect and restore Florida’s coastal and marine environment, is hosting The Florida Coastal and Ocean Conference, a one day conference on Friday June 18, 2010 in Tallahassee at the Hotel Duval.

The goal of the conference is to explore solutions to key issues facing Florida’s coasts and oceans, including: marine spatial planning, water quality, future of Florida’s coast, and marine ecosystems and fisheries.

This conference will  bring together policymakers, managers and interested members of the public to provide a well rounded discussion of the issues and solutions at a time of increasing national, state and local attention.  It has been over a decade since a coastal and ocean conference such as this was held in Florida. The format of the conference will be structured to provide expert presentations and facilitate group discussion and audience input on a variety of topics.

The Coalition invites you and your organization to join us June 18, 2010 at this important conference to develop an action plan for Florida’s most pressing coastal and ocean issues.

The Florida Coastal and Ocean Coalition expresses its gratitude and appreciation to the Elizabeth Ordway Dunn Foundation, the Curtis and Edith Munson Foundation, and Jane’s Trust. Their generous support has enabled the Coalition to carry out its work for the protection of the saltier and sandier sides of Florida.
